Nothing interesting in the workshop at the moment, so here is coverage of the recent NZ Nationals drag event. If you watch closely you will see our Evo twice in this video :)
Basically the torque plate simulates the cylinder bore’s distortion when the head is bolted to the block, thus allowing us to hone the cylinders with the simulated distortion. Honing with a torque plate generally gives better ring seal, compression, and can reduce oil consumption. Not necessary on every engine build, only those who are building high horsepower engines and want it done.
